The number of sms attacks, the so-called sms bombing, has tripled from January 2022 to March 2023, according to Servicepipe, a company that develops solutions for protecting against cyber attacks.
SMS bombing is a type of attack in which attackers provoke a mass mailing of SMS messages supposedly on behalf of companies to customers and random people, explained Daniil Bobryshev, owner of the Servicepipe DosGate product. Most often, banks and marketplaces become victims of attackers in this case.
