Railway communication between Russia and Abkhazia suspended due to track damage

The movement of trains on the Gagra-Tsandripsh section of the Abkhaz railway today, June 14, at 7 am was closed due to adverse weather conditions, reported press service of the North Caucasian Railway (SKZhD, a branch of Russian Railways). Trains traveling from Russia to Abkhazia or on the return route have been delayed.
According to the North Caucasus Railway, passenger trains St. Petersburg-Sukhumi and Moscow-Sukhumi were delayed for 4 hours and 10 minutes at the Tsandripsh station. Tourist train “Sochi”, next to Gagra, stopped at Veseleye station (delay 2 hours 40 minutes). Due to a traffic interruption on the Gagra-Tsandripsh section, four Lastochka trains running between Gagra and Sochi were canceled on June 14. According to media reports, in Abkhazia, as a result of heavy rains, a section of the railway near the village of Anykhynsta was damaged.
