The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine voted for the resignation of Rustem Umerov from the post of chairman of the State Property Fund (SPFU), informed Deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak.

“We are waiting today for a proposal from the President [Владимира Зеленского] appoint him Minister of Defense of Ukraine, and tomorrow the vote,” he wrote in his Telegram channel. It is specified that 302 deputies voted for the resignation.

In addition, Zheleznyak announced the resignation, adopted by Parliament, of the head of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine (AMCU) Olga Pishchanskaya. He added that she did not confirm or deny the plans to appoint her as the chairman of the State Property Fund instead of Umerov.

Formerly parliament accepted resignation from the post of Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksiy Reznikov. The dismissal of Reznikov from office was announced on September 3 by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. He explained the reshuffle by saying that the ministry “needs new approaches and other formats of interaction both with the military and with society as a whole.” Reznikov has served as Minister of Defense since November 2021.
