During the event, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said that a quantum cluster is being created in the city – a new center for specialized research and development based on the infrastructure of the Skolkovo innovation center. Meanwhile, in recent years, many pilot projects in this area have already been successfully implemented in the capital, which has made Moscow the largest Russian center for the development and implementation of quantum technologies.
Quantum technologies are the technologies of the future and they need to be dealt with, said Vladislav Ovchinsky, head of the Moscow City Investment and Industrial Policy Department.
Meanwhile, quantum technologies are actively used in the automotive and pharmaceutical industries, rocket science and microelectronics.
Ovchinsky stressed that science has already made it possible to create a hydrogen-powered drone in Moscow.
“We want it to be able to stay in the air for more than 12-16 hours, then it will become more cost-effective than a conventional device powered by a diesel generator. Then the hydrogen engine will be able to go into mass production,” he said.
In the meantime, the maximum duration of a hydrogen-powered drone is 4 hours.
