More than 20,000 people came to a trial fan festival in Qatar, which took place a few days before the start of the World Cup. Officially, the fan festival will open on November 19. Alcohol was sold at the event.
The trial event featured a two-hour Michael Jackson parody concert with fireworks and a drone show. Reportedly Reuters and Guardian, the cost of beer at the festival is $14. RIA Novosti claims that it was possible to buy a glass of beer for $8.
The Guardian notes the inflated prices of other goods as well. So, a small portion of Greek salad cost $12, a piece of pizza – $9.5. In addition, journalists note that the air temperature rose to 32°C.
The World Cup will be held in Qatar at eight stadiums from November 20 to December 18. Qatar became the first Arab Muslim country to host the championship.
