Pyotr Todorovsky’s film “Healthy Man” won the Silver Saint George award at the 44th Moscow Film Festival

The film, directed and written by Pyotr Todorovsky and starring Nikita Efremov, received a prize at the 44th MIFF and won the new Russian Premieres competition.

The film was named the “best project of the year” by the jury headed by Sergei Ursulyak with the participation of director Ivan I. Tverdovsky and producer Pyotr Anurov.

– It is an honor! I really didn’t expect, – said Pyotr Todorovsky, receiving an award on the stage of the Rossiya Theater. Thanks a lot to the jury! There was a very strong competition at the festival, very talented directors participated in it. And I would just like to say thank you to those people who believed in me!

The “Golden Saint George” prize for the best film of the main competition was given to the Iranian film “Without prior arrangement” directed by Behruz Shoaibi.

“We were sure,” Behruz Shoaibi said, “that we were making a film to tell everyone once again that the main way of salvation is love. Perhaps for me this is the most significant film work, for which I thank the entire film crew that worked on this film for two years.

“Silver St. George” for the best short film went to the Iranian film “Breeze” by Hamidreza Ghazemi.

But the “Silver St. George” for the best documentary was taken by Russian director Sergei Debizhev. The film is called “Holy Archipelago”.

– Infrequently, Russian documentaries, – said Sergei Debizhev, – receive prizes at the MIFF. It seems to me that it is high time to move on to the bright side of life and stop frightening the viewer, tickling him. It is time to turn to his soul, and we will make every effort for this.

“Golden Saint George” for his contribution to world cinema was presented to the composer Eduard Artemyev by Sergey Ursulyak.

– 44 is not an easy number. The sum of 4 and 4 gives 8. The sign of infinity. And I feel that we are all caught in an endless whirlpool of creations, disappearances and creations again. And this is great happiness. Moreover, everyone who is engaged in creativity creates a reality that never existed, – receiving a prize at the MIFF, said Artemiev.

“Silver St. George” for the best performance of the male role went to the Church of Kashkaval (“Voice of One Crying in the Wilderness”, Romania).

“Silver St. George” for the best performance of a female role received Pega Akhangarani (“Without prior arrangement”, Iran).

“Silver St. George” for the best director’s work was taken away by director Sinisa Cvetich (“Beheading”, Serbia).

The ceremony was conducted by Alexey Agranovich. He said that 49 films from 25 countries were shown in the competition programs of the current MIFF. The closing took place under the musical accompaniment of the Moral Code group.
