The central election headquarters of Russian President Vladimir Putin has received signatures in support of his nomination for the upcoming presidential elections from another 25 regions. In total, signatures were delivered from 45 regions, reports TASS from the headquarters in Gostiny Dvor.
Signatures were delivered from Adygea, Dagestan, Ingushetia, Kabardino-Balkaria, Karachay-Cherkessia, Kalmykia, Crimea, North Ossetia – Alania and the Chechen Republic, Krasnodar and Stavropol Territories, the city of Sevastopol, Astrakhan, Volgograd, Kurgan, Rostov, Sverdlovsk, Tyumen and Chelyabinsk regions, Khanty-Mansiysk and Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrugs.
In addition, the first subscription lists arrived from the Lugansk and Donetsk people’s republics, as well as the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions, the agency reports.
Vladimir Putin is running in the presidential elections as a self-nominated candidate; to register, he needs to collect and submit to the CEC at least 300 thousand voter signatures. The collection of signatures in support of the nomination of the current head of state started on December 23.
Presidential elections are scheduled for March 17, 2024. They will take place over three days – March 15, 16 and 17. In addition to Vladimir Putin, Vladislav Davankov (New People), Leonid Slutsky (LDPR), Nikolai Kharitonov (Communist Party of the Russian Federation), Sergei Baburin (Russian All-People’s Union), Andrei Bogdanov (Russian Freedom and Justice Party), are also vying for participation in the elections. Boris Nadezhdin (Civil Initiative), Sergei Malinkovich (Communists of Russia), Irina Sviridova (Democratic Party of Russia), bloggers Rada of Russians and Anatoly Batashev (both self-nominated candidates).
