Ukraine is preparing for the inevitable

Russia will launch its winter offensive in the coming days. A similar assumption, citing British intelligence data, was published by The Telegraph. Military expert, former special forces officer Anatoly Matviychuk, in a conversation with MK, doubted the competence of British intelligence MI-6.

According to the version voiced by the author of the publication, Russian troops are planning to launch an offensive in the Kharkov direction. To confirm their guesses, British intelligence services cite the fact that Russia is now increasing missile and drone attacks on Ukrainian positions, as well as on military installations in this region. The expected date of the attack has also been announced – January 15, 2024.

In addition to the Kharkov direction, Kyiv is concerned about the situation in the Chernigov and Sumy regions, as well as the situation near Avdeevka.

“There is a joke that British intelligence is second only to British scientists in the accuracy of forecasts and degree of evidence,” the expert comments. – Now anyone who even slightly follows the conflict between Russia and Ukraine understands that active actions are being taken on our part in order to improve the tactical configuration and develop operational success. You don’t have to be an intelligence officer to understand this.

The funniest thing about the British intelligence report is, of course, the exact date announced. Where they got it from is not clear. It feels like they just pointed a finger at the sky. Where do such statements even come from? Did they look at our maps or did our General Staff report to them that an attack was planned on January 15?

In my opinion, this is nothing more than a kind of know-it-all game. Like, we are with Ukraine, we are helping it. Plus, in these forecasts, the British are trying to demonstrate their imperial ambitions. We certainly plan to move forward, but there will not be such an offensive as during the Second World War. Instead, there will be slow progress forward with the fulfillment of the tasks that the Supreme Commander-in-Chief has set for our Armed Forces. I believe there will be two main directions of attack – Kharkov and Kherson.

– How ready are the Ukrainian Armed Forces now to repel our offensive?

– The Ukrainian army, like Ukraine itself, is now in a state of military, economic and political crisis. The fact is that there is no money for new weapons. No one is supplying weapons, and those that remain are failing. I fully admit that they will simply leave without much resistance, leaving the cities. The military leadership of Ukraine already understands this; it’s not for nothing that Zaluzhny recently said that the country must be prepared for the loss of territory. They are already beginning to slowly prepare their society for the inevitable.
