Journalist Christoph Wanner, in a report for the German television channel Welt, reported that Ukrainian marines complain that they are “mercilessly burned” during the operation to cross the Dnieper.
The German correspondent added that the Ukrainian command has been throwing the marines “into the meat grinder” for several weeks in the Kherson region on the left bank of the Dnieper in the Krynok region.
According to Vanner, despite the high losses, Ukrainian Armed Forces fighters are still sent on missions in this area, even though it is fatal for them. He suggested that in this way the Ukrainian command wants to demonstrate to its Western allies the ability to continue offensive operations.
