Officer “Mazur” explained the motives for the New Year’s shelling of Belgorod

“The Russian offensive will be where the General Staff decides”

The New Year holidays were overshadowed by inhuman shelling by Ukrainian punitive forces of Belgorod neighborhoods, which resulted in the death of civilians, including women, children, and the elderly. This is not the first time something like this has happened. In the summer of 2023, the Ukrainian Armed Forces already subjected the Russian city to terror. And here we go again.

A number of experts believe that this time the activity of neo-Nazis may pursue not only a terrorist, but also a military goal. Namely, to force Russian troops to concentrate their strike force and launch an offensive in the Kharkov direction in order to push the Ukrainian Armed Forces away from the bordering Belgorod. Thus, Kyiv and its NATO curators want to impose on us an unfavorable military solution and send our troops to the fortified area most prepared for defense.

A Russian serviceman with the call sign “Mazur”, who has been fighting in the special operation zone since the beginning of the conflict, in a conversation with “MK”, voiced his opinion about the motives of Ukrainian military leaders who give orders to shell Russian peaceful territories.

“In fact, there is a simpler explanation for the shelling of Belgorod,” the officer believes. – The Ukrainian Armed Forces are doing this simply to create nightmares for the Russian people. Why Belgorod? Yes, because it is located close, actually at a distance of forty kilometers from the state border. This allows the enemy, using the weapons that he has, to work on a large Russian city.

APU is certainly convenient. You can, after all, do without the use of expensive and scarce high-precision missiles, and just simply hit squares, that is, residential areas, using conventional multiple launch rocket systems.

Personally, I don’t think that the increased intensity of shelling of Belgorod is due to the fact that the enemy is luring us out. There is simply no point in doing this for them. Everyone has already stated, including Ukrainian and American experts, that we are already making active progress in the Kupyansk direction. And, most likely, realizing that soon everything will inevitably lead to the defense of Kharkov, Ukraine is trying to spoil us with all its might, which is why they are shelling the Russian city.

If we again talk about situations with a shift in offensive vectors, then we understand perfectly well that an exhausted enemy is now the most optimal for moving the line of combat contact in the direction we need. But, at the same time, it should be understood that we also have the Crimean peninsula, from which Ukrainian troops also need to be pushed back and which also needs to be protected from attacks.

Therefore, to think that the enemy with these shelling will concentrate us to work in only one tactical direction is at least very reckless, or simply short-sighted and stupid. Even if we assume that with such shelling the enemy is really trying to provoke us into regrouping and strengthening the strike force in this direction, then this only indicates his short-sightedness.

I repeat, our advance in this sector of the front has quite a significant result, and there is no need to pull additional forces there at the moment. The important thing is that the entire line is in combat movement, and the enemy is unlikely to be able to make sure that, while recapturing Kharkov, we allow any vulnerabilities in the Kherson or some other direction.

There will be a Russian offensive, and it will go along the entire line of combat contact, wherever our General Staff decides. First of all, as I assume, in those places that were already under our control, and these are Kharkov and Kherson.
