Putin will take part in the EEF plenary along with the Vice President of Laos

Russian President Vladimir Putin will take part in the plenary session of the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF) together with Vice President of Laos Pani Yathothu, the main foreign guest of the event. Press Secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov told reporters about this.
“The main foreign guest will be the Vice-President of Laos, Pani Yathotou, this is a woman; in fact, she will, together with President Putin, take part in the plenary session of the forum, which, as we have already said, will take place on September 12,” he said.
Before the plenary session, at which Far Eastern issues and international issues will be discussed, there will be a separate meeting between Putin and Yathotu, Peskov explained. In addition, the head of state will meet with Vice Premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China Zhang Guoqing.
Eastern Economic Forum was first held in 2015. It was organized by order of Putin. The main objective of the EEF was stated to be strengthening ties between the international investment community, Russian entrepreneurs, federal, regional and local authorities, and a comprehensive expert assessment of the economic potential of the Far East.
This year, the EEF will be held from September 10 to 13 in Vladivostok. On September 12, Putin will take part in the WEF plenary meeting. According to Peskov, an “interesting discussion” is expected. Earlier, Vedomosti sources reported that Putin may visit the Far East during the EEF. In addition to participating in the plenary session, the head of state has other events planned, including business meetings.
