In less than two days, more than 15 thousand DDoS attacks on remote electronic voting (DEG) resources were blocked, said Ella Pamfilova, head of the Central Election Commission. She claims that attacks mainly come from abroad.
According to her, the bulk of attacks (14,197) occurred on the website vybory.gov.ru. “From 11:00 p.m. on September 7 to 8:00 a.m. on September 9, 15,528 attacks on DEG resources were blocked,” said the head of the Central Election Commission in the information center of the election commission (quoted by Interfax).
In Russia, from September 8 to 10, elections of senior officials are being held in 21 constituent entities. As of this morning, September 9, over 1.6 million people took part in the DEG. Mrs. Pamfilova toldthat there have been complaints about the operation of the DEG system.
