Putin will meet with Igor Sechin – Kommersant

President Vladimir Putin, during a press conference with participants in the Congress of Young Scientists, announced that on December 1 he would hold a meeting with the head of Rosneft, Igor Sechin. He also promised to discuss with him the issue of supporting gene research in Russia.
During the conference, Alina Demkina, a researcher at the genomic laboratory at the Biotechnology Campus, told the president about plans to create the country’s largest database of human genetic information. In response, Vladimir Putin said that he intends to discuss the monetary aspect of the project with Igor Sechin, since Rosneft oversees research in this area.
“As far as I know, the Rosneft company plans to allocate up to 20 billion rubles for research in the field of genetics, so this may well correspond to what is required to achieve the goals that you mentioned,” the president noted (quoted from RIA News”).
The last time the president met with Igor Sechin was on October 10, 2023. Then the head of Rosneft participated in negotiations the Russian side with Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed al-Sudani about the conflict between Israel and Hamas militants.
