A proposal to denounce treaties unfavorable to Russia will be presented to the President of Russia

Russian President Vladimir Putin will be presented with proposals to denounce treaties, the further implementation of which is unprofitable for Russia, said Vice-Speaker of the Federation Council Konstantin Kosachev on the Rossiya 24 channel.

According to him, the president of the country, with the rights enshrined in the Constitution, has the authority to begin the process of denouncing such agreements. At the same time, Kosachev noted the need to systematize such work, and emphasized that part of it is already being carried out.

“The corresponding proposals, I think, when they appear, will be presented to the President of the Russian Federation, because in accordance with the Constitution, he has the right to initiate the denunciation of previously concluded international treaties,” he said.

According to him, the Russian Federation currently has more than 15 thousand international treaties with foreign states and associations.
