Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the chairman of the upper house of the parliament of Turkmenistan, former President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov will soon arrive in Moscow at the invitation of the speaker of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko.

“I know that Gurbanguly Myalikgulyevich is going to visit Russia,” Putin said at a meeting with the incumbent Turkmen president, the ex-president’s son, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, which took place as part of the SCO summit in Samarkand.

According to Putin, Berdimuhamedov Sr. is scheduled, in particular, to meet with State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin.

“I will also meet with him personally with pleasure,” Putin said. “This meeting will certainly be organized.”
