EU extends sanctions against Russian citizens and companies


The EU Council decided to extend the period of restrictive measures against Russian citizens and companies "responsible for undermining or threatening the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine" until March 15, 2023, should from the department's statement.

“The sanctions imposed include travel restrictions for individuals, an asset freeze and a ban on providing funds or other economic resources to listed individuals and entities. Sanctions will continue to apply to 1,206 individuals and 108 legal entities,” the statement said.

The deceased LDPR leader Vladimir Zhirinovsky, as well as the ex-wife of businessman Mikhail Fridman Olga Aiziman and Alisher Usmanov's sister Saodat Narzieva were excluded from the sanctions list.

Austrian Foreign Minister Alexander Schallenberg said earlier that the European Union would not lift sanctions on Russian entrepreneurs already under restrictions in the near future, despite their attempts to appeal.
