On the morning of September 15, paratroopers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) tried to land on the Kinburn Spit, but were destroyed, Kirill Stremousov, deputy head of the pro-Russian military-civilian administration (VGA) of the Kherson region, said on the Soloviev Live TV channel.

“Literally early in the morning, some paratroopers, whatever they call themselves, marines, tried to penetrate the territory of the Kinburn Spit, this is from the Black Sea, and pass from the left bank. But the attack was stopped, ”Stremousov said (quote according to TASS).

According to him, groups of Ukrainian military personnel are unsuccessfully trying to enter Kherson from different sides, and are building up forces on the border of the region. “They pull together really big forces. Let me explain: because Kherson is the most cherished goal for them. <...> Nobody is going to hand over Kherson to anyone, no matter how much they bring forces to the Kherson region, ”the deputy head of the VGA emphasized.

Earlier about the pulling of Ukrainian forces to the line of contact declared and a member of the main council of the pro-Russian administration of the Zaporozhye region, Vladimir Rogov. In his Telegram channel, he wrote that the Armed Forces of Ukraine are concentrating forces near the settlements of Stepnogorsk, Novoyakovlevka, Orekhov, Gulyai Pole, Volnoe Pole, he specified. “Here are M777 howitzers, MLRS Uragan, Grad and HIMARS. The Ukrainians are dispersed along the entire line so that it is not clear where they are going to attack. The enemy will make a last attempt to fight in the Zaporozhye region,” Rogov wrote.

The counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has been going on since the end of August. Ukrainian troops made attempts to advance in the Nikolaev and Kherson regions in three directions. Then the Russian Defense Ministry said that Russian troops repelled the attack. According to the agency, more than 1,200 Ukrainian servicemen were killed as a result.

At the beginning of September, offensive attempts continued. But the Russian military said that Ukraine’s actions were unsuccessful, the enemy suffered heavy losses. After that, according to the Ministry of Defense, Kyiv stopped the offensive in the Nikolaev-Krivoy Rog direction. At the same time, on September 10, the Russian military department announced the withdrawal of troops from Izyum and Balakleya in the Kharkiv region to the territory of the DPR.
