Russian President Vladimir Putin took part in online voting in the Moscow mayoral elections.
The head of state recalled that regional heads will be elected in 21 constituent entities of the Russian Federation, including the capital.
“Elections are a direct expression of the will of citizens, an opportunity to influence the future of your city, town, country as a whole, to send to government bodies people you trust and who will represent and defend your interests,” Putin said
The head of state called on residents of the regions where elections are being held these days to take part in them.
Election procedures in the Russian Federation are structured as conveniently as possible, the president said, clarifying that he means, among other things, three-day voting at polling stations and the opportunity to cast a vote remotely.
“Electronic voting is becoming more and more popular from year to year and is expanding its geography,” Putin said.
