Russian President Vladimir Putin shared Russia’s views on multipolarity. According to him, peace should not be based on the dictates of one country. Putin expressed this opinion during a plenary session at the Eastern Economic Forum.
“The world should be much more just, the world should not be based on the dictates of one country that imagines itself to be the representative of the Lord God on Earth,” said the President of the Russian Federation (quote according to TASS).
Putin has previously criticized the United States for a policy that the country bases on “its alleged exclusivity.” In June, at the plenary session of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), the Russian head said that the United States “appointed itself as the representatives of the Lord God on Earth.”
In addition, Putin has repeatedly announced the “breakdown” of the unipolar model of the world and its replacement by multipolarity. In April, he noted that at present, the dominance of one country is impossible. According to him, today “the world is more complicated.”
In June, he again criticized the unipolar world system. Putin clarified that the drawback of such a model is that “all the rules of business transactions and international relations, when necessary, are interpreted solely in the interests of this power.”
In August, the Russian president said that the only way to reduce tension in the world is in a multipolar world. At the end of August, Putin explainedthat the new order should be based on “principles of justice and equality, recognition of the right of every state and people to its own sovereign path of development.”
