Putin to visit Volgograd this week for a one-day visit

President Vladimir Putin will visit Volgograd this week. According to his press secretary Dmitry Peskov, the trip will not last more than one day. This week, February 2, marks the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Battle of Stalingrad.
“Putin will indeed visit Volgograd this week,” Mr. Peskov said at the briefing. At the same time, he did not specify when exactly the president would visit the city, but said that the trip would be a one-day trip.
Earlier today, several Telegram channels, citing journalist Pavel Zarubin, reported that Vladimir Putin would spend five days in Volgograd next week: from January 30 to February 5. However, in the published by the journalist announcement the five-day stay of the head of state in the city was not reported.
On July 15, 2022, Vladimir Putin signed a decree on the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the victory of Soviet troops over Nazi troops in the Battle of Stalingrad.
