The Ministry of Industry and Trade handed over to the Ministry of Defense a list of priority professions, whose representatives can receive a deferment from military service, Russian President Vladimir Putin said during a conversation with workers at an aviation plant in Ulan-Ude. So he answered the question about deferrals for employees of defense enterprises.

“Of course, we need to decide what is the most critical, the most important in terms of maintaining and developing human resources. Here the Ministry of Industry and Trade, I want to inform you, has prepared an appropriate list of areas of activity, professions that are needed, and it has been submitted to the Ministry of Defense. They now have to decide in dialogue among themselves what decision to make,” the president said.

The head of state stated the need for a balance between the interests of the Ministry of Defense and the production itself. He stressed that the defense industry works in the interests of the “defense complex”. The final decision on which professions can receive a deferral should be made by the Ministry of Defense based on the results of studying the list of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Vladimir Putin said.

About the fact that the authorities are thinking of introducing a deferment from conscription for military-industrial complex employees, Mr. Putin declared in January. Then he talked with employees of another defense plant – Obukhovsky, located in St. Petersburg. Then Vladimir Putin promised that the issue would be resolved in the near future. According to him, 830,000 Russians are involved in the defense industry.

The news is being added.
