Russian President Vladimir Putin thanked the Russians for their endurance, solidarity and patriotism, noting that any blackmail and turmoil are doomed to failure. He said this in an address to the nation.

“Today I once again appeal to all citizens of Russia. Thank you for your endurance, unity and patriotism. This civic solidarity has shown that any blackmail, an attempt to create internal unrest is doomed to failure,” he said.

Putin noted that society, the executive and legislative authorities at all levels have shown the highest level of consolidation, and public organizations, political parties and religious denominations have taken a unified position. “Everyone was united and rallied by the main thing – responsibility for the fate of the Fatherland,” he added.

The head of state also noted that the armed rebellion would have been suppressed in any case. “The organizers of the rebellion, despite the loss of adequacy, could not help but understand this. All of them understood, including the fact that they went to criminal actions, to split and weaken the country, which is now confronting a colossal external threat, ”Putin stressed.

The Russian leader also expressed gratitude to the servicemen who “stand in the way of the rebels” and remained faithful to the oath and the people. “The courage and self-sacrifice of the fallen heroes-pilots saved Russia from tragically devastating consequences,” Putin stressed.

Gratitude was also expressed to the servicemen of the PMC “Wagner”, who stopped “at the last line” and did not go “to fratricidal bloodshed.” Now they have the opportunity to continue serving in the Russian army by signing a contract with the Ministry of Defense or another law enforcement agency, the president added.
