Russian leader Vladimir Putin on Wednesday, November 8, during a meeting with the Cabinet of Ministers via videoconference, raised the topic of combating cancer.
The President recalled that before the meeting he visited the Dima Rogachev Children’s Medical Center, and in the morning discussed the topic of fighting cancer with Head of Government Mikhail Mishustin.
Putin expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation for its serious attitude to the work of this medical institution, noting that “specialists have some questions.” As the Russian leader explained, doctors “are asking for support and help on several specific issues.” Putin promised to discuss this topic with the head of the Ministry of Health Mikhail Murashko in more detail.
The day before, the preliminary results of the “Fight Against Cancer” program were summed up in St. Petersburg. In four years in the city opened 19 centers outpatient cancer care and re-equipped six medical organizations. Medical institutions received 232 pieces of equipment.
In Ulan-Ude, thanks to the opening of a new hospital of the Republican Clinical Oncology Dispensary, progress in the treatment of malignant tumors. The hospital was built on the direct instructions of Russian President Vladimir Putin, who took part in its opening in 2022 via video conferencing.
