In Moscow, police took six pupils of a private kindergarten to the police department

The founder of the Smile Fish chain of private kindergartens, Ivan Sorokin, said that today, November 8, police officers took seven children from one of the branches in the north of Moscow to the local department. The youngest of the detained children is 1 year and 8 months old. A few hours later the police reported about “transferring six children to ensure their safety” to the territorial unit, since the organization worked without the necessary documentation.

We are talking about the Smile Fish kindergarten on Kosmonavta Volkova Street, 5k1. It is located near the Voykovskaya metro station. As Mr. Sorokin told Kommersant, the branch opened a month and a half ago, the group enrolled 11 children, and some time ago “the neighbors wrote some slander about the branch.” According to the Telegram channel Shota 54-year-old resident of the house filed a complaint because the children were making “loud noise.”

According to the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Moscow, on October 28, the police department from Rospotrebnadzor received “an appeal from a citizen regarding the organization of an illegal kindergarten in the apartment of a residential building.” First, according to Mr. Sorokin, the district police officer responded to the complaint. At the branch, he was provided with service agreements concluded with his parents, documents for individual entrepreneurs, renting an apartment, birth certificates of children and copies of parents’ passports.

After this, Mr. Sorokin said, the inspection was carried out by employees of the Department of Juvenile Affairs (PDN): they looked at the contracts and “counted the children.” On November 8, when the teachers took the children for a walk, eight people came to the apartment, among them a police lieutenant colonel, investigators, and employees of the PDN service. “They break into our apartment without permission, they say: well, you have children here illegally, provide documents. The owner showed the documents for the apartment, showed contracts for the children. This did not suit them. They said: what kind of street children are they? — said Ivan Sorokin.

Following this, according to Mr. Sorokin, the police officers “took the children, the smallest child was 1.8 years old,” put them in a car and took them “in an unknown direction.” Later, a PDN employee informed the kindergarten workers that the children were taken to the police station at Staropetrovsky Proezd, 2, 100 (MVD in the Voikovsky district). Smile Fish employees notified the parents, and they took the children from the department.

At the same time, Ivan Sorokin clarified, at the department the Smile Fish employees “were not presented with anything.” According to him, one of the police officers explained his actions this way: “We are doing our job.” According to the businessman, such checks are not within the competence of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Mr. Sorokin plans to send a complaint to the prosecutor’s office about illegal actions of the police.

The press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for Moscow explained that upon arrival at the Smile Fish branch, the police found “eight young children who were with persons who were not actually responsible for their lives and health.” “The organization for short-term child care operated a kindergarten without the appropriate documentation,” added the press service of the Moscow police.

“In order to ensure the safety of minors, the police decided to transfer six of them to the territorial unit (two were handed over to their legal representatives on the spot) with further transfer to their parents,” the press service said in a statement. The materials collected by the police were sent to the investigative authorities for legal assessment.
