Russian President Vladimir Putin signed law on the suspension of indexation of salaries of Russian civil servants and judges in 2024. However, the suspension of indexation does not apply to military and law enforcement officers.
Now payments to civil servants are annually indexed to the level of inflation. When discussing the federal state budget of Russia, the government took the initiative to suspend the indexation of payments in 2024 (this does not apply to 2025–2026). State Duma supported bill October 25.
At the same time, the government does not plan to abandon the indexation of salaries of security forces and military personnel; payments to them will be increased according to the projected inflation rate of 4.5%.
