Vladimir, Ryazan and Podolsk nominated for honorary titles

Following the meeting of the Pobeda Organizing Committee, Russian President Vladimir Putin supported Andrey Turchak’s proposal to award the title of City of Labor Valor to 10 settlements in Russia. The list includes: Vladimir, Votkinsk, Nakhodka, Novomoskovsk, Podolsk, Prokopyevsk, Ryazan, Rubtsovsk, Ulan-Ude and Khanty-Mansiysk. Turchak noted that all of them are united by the huge contribution of their inhabitants to the victory, to ensuring the work of evacuated enterprises and the uninterrupted supply of the front.

Nearly a million signatures have been collected from residents, said Andrey Turchak, Secretary of the United Russia General Council, at a meeting of the Pobeda organizing committee chaired by President Vladimir Putin.

“Taking into account the expert opinion of the Russian Academy of Sciences, dear Vladimir Vladimirovich, let me introduce you 10 new contenders for the title of cities of labor prowess. These are Vladimir, Votkinsk, Nakhodka, Novomoskovsk, Podolsk, Prokopyevsk, Ryazan, Rubtsovsk, Ulan-Ude and Khanty-Mansiysk,” Turchak said.

He noted that among the presented cities there are both large regional centers and small towns. But all of them are united by the huge contribution of their inhabitants to the victory, to ensuring the work of the evacuated enterprises and the uninterrupted supply of the front.

Recall that the status of “City of Labor Valor” is given to settlements that have made a significant contribution to achieving victory in the Great Patriotic War.

“The proposals that were made today are being formulated and accepted, we will work on their implementation, and I ask that this be reflected in the relevant documents,” President Putin said.

Recall that in cities that have been awarded the title of “City of Labor Valor”, with the support of “United Russia” steles are being opened. They appeared in Chita, Novosibirsk, Ufa, Tyumen, Yaroslavl and other cities. To date, out of 53 cities of labor prowess, steles have been installed in 34.

As a result of the joint work of United Russia, the Russian Post and the Marka enterprise, postage stamps of the City of Labor Valor were issued.

“The list of new cities of labor prowess, proposed by Andrey Turchak to Vladimir Putin, is evidence that United Russia evaluates in detail the real contribution to the development of the national economy in various settlements,” said Dmitry Orlov, Director General of the Agency for Political and Economic Communications (APEC). . “This is the case when it’s not the size that matters, but the labor and its value.”

The man of labor is the most important person in Russia, says political scientist Vasily Koltashov. According to him, when cities are awarded the title of “City of Labor Valor”, this symbolically emphasizes that the social state in Russia lives and will develop.

This is the meaning of this symbolic event,” the expert continues. “And although, it would seem, the residents of the cities who have been awarded this honorary title will not personally receive anything.

Meanwhile, it is thanks to their rank that these cities can get into special government programs, receive additional funding for certain items, and solve social problems and problems of urban infrastructure. These cities stand out from the rest, since it is in them that people who have accomplished labor feats live.
