Putin supported the creation of adaptation centers for migrants

During a meeting with Igor Barinov, head of the Federal Agency for Ethnic Affairs, Russian President Vladimir Putin supported the idea of creating adaptation centers for migrants. According to the head of state, migrants coming to Russia should know Russian legislation, language and culture.
Mr. Barinov explained that, according to his department, 80.7% of the Russian population positively assess interethnic relations in the country, and 81.4% – ethno-confessional ones. At the same time, he noted a change in the cultural landscape in Russia due to the large number of migrants, which could provoke an increase in ethnic crime, the formation of enclaves and pressure on the labor market.
“People must understand that if they come to Russia, they must respect our customs, our traditions, know and comply with Russian laws,” Mr. Putin explained, adding that work on adapting migrants to Russian realities should start even in their homeland (quote on site Kremlin).
Vladimir Putin stressed that Western countries are always trying to discredit Russia’s national policy. “Now they are no longer talking about the “export of democracy”, but about the “decolonization” of Russia. We have already calculated how many parts to divide us, what is the maximum number of citizens that should live in these parts, but, apparently, they do not know the history of the Russian Federation well, ”Igor Barinov agreed with the president.
According to the head of the agency, an example of the unity of the peoples of Russia is a video in which the Chechen military, together with the Cossacks, chant “Akhmat is strength, the Cossacks are strength, together we are strength!” in Severodonetsk.
Last week, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council Dmitry Medvedev told on the preparation of a “comprehensive bill” that will consolidate changes in Russia’s migration policy. In September, Vladimir Putin will hold a meeting of the Security Council dedicated to the problems of regulating the stay of foreigners in Russia.
