Russia needs to achieve a cultural breakthrough, drawing on the experience of past generations. President Vladimir Putin announced this on Tuesday, November 28, during a speech at a meeting of the World Russian People’s Council (VRNS). The event takes place in the Russian capital on November 27 and 28 in the halls of the Cathedral of Christ the Savior. Its thematic sections were headed by leading Russian politicians, scientists and economists, as well as deputy heads of the cathedral, regional leaders and various representatives of the clergy and creative intelligentsia.
“We need a real breakthrough in cultural life,” the head of state emphasized. “And here we have a lot to learn from our ancestors, who set the standards in both traditional and, by the way, avant-garde art.”
Previously “MK” reported, that at the military section of the ARNS on Tuesday they supported the initiative to canonize commander Alexander Suvorov. This conclusion can be drawn from a publication on the official website of the Russian Orthodox Church (ROC).
