President Vladimir Putin, in a meeting with Commissioner for Children’s Rights Maria Lvova-Belova, said the authorities are considering supporting the families of those who fight in private military campaigns or as volunteers. According to the president, social guarantees should be equal for all participants in the conflict.
Ms. Lvova-Belova said that she thinks it is unfair that the children of the military, participating in the hostilities in Ukraine under the Ministry of Defense and as part of private military campaigns, receive different social guarantees.
“Everyone: both volunteers, and those who signed contracts and are serving under the contract, and those who switched to military service as part of mobilization – they all fulfill their sacred duty to the Motherland and to the Motherland in this sense, they are all equal. Therefore, in terms of guarantees to all social, protective measures, they should be in the same situation,” Vladimir Putin said. According to him, this issue is already being considered.
