Putin: One hundred launches in a row without accidents speak of the development of the Russian space industry

Russian President Vladimir Putin at a gala evening in honor of Cosmonautics Day assessed the current state of the Russian space industry.

“Our space industry is consistently increasing its potential,” the head of state expressed satisfaction with the pace of development of the strategically important industry. “Thank God, for the first time in recent history, 100 accident-free space launches in a row have been carried out,” Putin singled out this factor as confirmation of the pace of development. This is an indicator that “the industry is getting back on its feet,” the Russian leader is sure.

Space exploration should become a more significant factor in national development, the President noted. At the same time, the domestic space industry should be “tightly integrated into the Russian economy.”
