Russian President Vladimir Putin drew attention to the absence of one of the winners, ballet dancer Sergei Polunin, at the award ceremony for young cultural and art workers in the Kremlin on Wednesday, TASS reports.

“A young, but already recognized master who wrote his pages in the world history of choreography is ballet dancer Sergei Vladimirovich Polunin,” the head of state said about the laureate. At the same time, Putin added: “Only something I don’t see him.”

Prizes for young cultural figures, apart from Polunin, were awarded to sculptor Ekaterina Pilnikova and director Aidar Zabbarov.

In addition, film director Alexander Galibin, artistic director of the dance ensemble “Joy” of the Murmansk Regional Palace of Culture and Folk Art. S. Kirova Larisa Feoktistova, head of the ensemble “Joy” Viktor Gotsulenko and director Inessa Kovalevskaya received awards in the field of literature and art. They were awarded for works for children and youth.
