Putin met with Xi Jinping before the forum in China

Russian President Vladimir Putin met with Chinese President Xi Jinping before the One Belt, One Road forum. The Kremlin reports this.
The Russian leader arrived at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, where a meeting of the heads of delegations participating in the One Belt, One Road forum, as well as the forum itself, will take place. Putin was met by Xi Jinping and his wife Peng Liyuan.
In a video released by the Kremlin, the leaders shook hands and then took a photo together. After this, a group photo was taken with all the forum participants.
On October 17, Putin arrived in Beijing for a two-day visit. He will take part in the III International Forum “One Belt – One Road”. During the visit, the Russian President will also hold talks with Xi Jinping and bilateral meetings with Prime Minister of Thailand Settha Thaweesin, President of Mongolia Ukhnagiin Khurelsukh, President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith and Acting Prime Minister of Pakistan Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar.
Earlier today, Putin met with Vietnamese President Vo Van Thuong. Also Russian President spent negotiations with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban. This meeting was not announced in advance.
On October 18, Putin will take part in the “One Belt, One Road” forum itself, including in the opening ceremony of the forum. The Russian President will speak at the forum as the chief guest immediately after Xi Jinping’s welcoming speech.
