The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan announced the abolition of the “visa-run” provision in the country, under which foreign citizens could often travel outside the country and return in order to “reset” their period of stay. The department reported that, on its initiative, the law was repealed by the government on October 10.
From this moment on, a visa-free regime is introduced for foreigners according to the “60/120” principle: after using 60 days of the visa-free regime, the foreigner must leave the country and will be able to return only after 60 days.
For foreigners who have been granted a 90-day visa-free regime, the visa-free period will be calculated according to the “90/180” principle.
