Russian President Vladimir Putin met with Acting Governor of the Zaporozhye Region Yevgeny Balitsky in the Kremlin. This was reported by the press service of the Kremlin.
“Vladimir Putin had a working meeting with the Acting Governor of the Zaporozhye Region Yevgeny Balitsky,” — says in the message.
During the meeting, Putin, referring to the issues of transport infrastructure in the region, said that he had addressed Russian Railways and Minister of Transport Vitaly Savelyev with a request to “deal with these issues in detail.” The head of state specified that “they have already presented some of their considerations.”
Also at the meeting, Balitsky said that the registration and recruitment of the volunteer battalion named after Sudoplatov in the region is underway. According to him, in April the battalion will conclude a contract with the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and receive weapons. Putin urged Balitsky to provide social guarantees for volunteers.
In addition, Putin and Balitsky discussed health issues in the region. The Acting Governor announced the launch of the process for the construction of a children’s interregional medical center for the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions in Melitopol. Its cost is estimated at 7 billion rubles.
The President of the Russian Federation expressed confidence that medical institutions in the region “will be an order of magnitude better” than in the cities of the region controlled by Kyiv. “They will be modern and will provide services, I can say with full confidence, at the highest level. We will train specialists, and the equipment will be the latest,” he stressed.
Today, April 6, Putin is holding separate meetings with the heads of four new regions that became part of the Russian Federation in the fall of 2022 – the LNR, the DNR, the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions. Earlier today, the head of state discussed security issues with the acting head of the DPR, Denis Pushilin. Putin urged to nullify the shelling of border regions and new territories by Ukraine.
