Podolyak: Russia will voluntarily leave Crimea after a series of significant defeats on the battlefield

According to adviser to the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Mykhailo Podolyak, the Russian authorities are likely to voluntarily leave Crimea after a series of successful offensive actions by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
In an interview with Channel 24, Podolyak explained that dialogue on Crimea could only begin when it was clear that the Russians were ready to leave the peninsula in a few days. After that, the Armed Forces of Ukraine will enter there without active hostilities. But such a scenario is very unlikely, he stressed.
“Most likely it will be like this: inflicting tactical significant defeats on Russia on the battlefield. It doesn’t matter in which direction … After these defeats, Russia will voluntarily leave Crimea,” Podolyak is sure.
On March 18, 2014, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed an agreement on the admission of the Republic of Crimea to the Russian Federation and the formation of new subjects within the Russian Federation. Neither Ukraine nor most countries of the world still recognize this accession and consider it an annexation.
