Putin met in Izhevsk with the head of Udmurtia

Russian President Vladimir Putin held a working meeting with the head of Udmurtia, Alexander Brechalov, reported Kremlin press service.

“How are you? We have already started talking to you, I can imagine what and how, but, nevertheless, please,” the president said at the beginning of the meeting.

Brechalov, in turn, thanked the head of state for supporting the United Russia initiative to award the honorary title “City of Labor Valor” to Votkinsk for its great contribution to the victory in the Great Patriotic War.

“This is truly a great honor for us, and on behalf of all the plant workers I want to thank you,” he added.

How clarifies TASS, industry and agriculture were discussed at the meeting, Brechalov spoke about the enterprises operating in the region for the production of drones, as well as the situation with the regional budget and public debt.

Earlier today, at a meeting of the military-industrial commission in Izhevsk, Putin instructed increase production volumes of counter-battery and air defense systems, as well as clarify the scope of the new state weapons program in connection with the special operation. Based on the results of eight months of 2023, defense industry organizations managed to maintain a stable pace of work, multiplying the output of military products in certain areas, he added.

Last time the president met with Brechalov in the Kremlin in July. At the meeting, the head of Udmurtia highlighted three problems of the region: healthcare, roads and budgetary security. In the first case, in Udmurtia, “tension remains” regarding the staffing of hospitals with specialists, although over the past two years more workers have entered the industry than have left. As for roads, Brechalov noted a drop in quality with an increase in the pace of construction.

In addition, the head of Udmurtia told Putin about the work being done to support the participants in the special operation. He asked the president to support improving the material and technical base of the war veterans hospital. Brechalov also asked the president to support another important facility for the region – a tuberculosis hospital.
