Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed to establish a scholarship for graduate students who conduct research for the scientific and technological development of Russia in the amount of 75 thousand rubles. The presidential decree was published on website legal information.
According to the text of the document, the scholarship is awarded for a period of one to four years and is paid monthly. The total number of graduate students receiving such a scholarship cannot exceed 2 thousand annually.
Candidates will be nominated by the supervisors of graduate students and adjuncts. Payments of scholarships will be made from the federal budget of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education.
According to the decree, the president instructed to form the composition of scholarship commissions within two months and develop a procedure for paying scholarships.
In March Ministry of Education and Science proposed to increase the amount of scholarships for graduate students and adjuncts to 50 thousand rubles. According to the ministry, as of March 2023, the amount of monthly payments ranged from 4,500 rubles. up to 22,800 rub.
