Putin instructed Kozhemyako to deal with sharks in the Primorsky Territory

The head of the country, Vladimir Putin, instructed the governor of the Primorsky Territory to ensure the safety of vacationers and protect local residents from sharks, the news agency reports DEITA.RU.

At the meeting on the development of the federal year-round resorts project, bright presentations of future tourist destinations were presented. It is planned to create such resorts in the Krasnodar Territory, Crimea, Dagestan, Zaporozhye, Kaliningrad and Irkutsk regions, St. Petersburg, Primorsky Territory and Buryatia.

After the speech of the Governor of the Primorsky Territory Oleg Kozhemyako, President Vladimir Putin drew attention to the safety of visitors. “What to do with sharks? They will bite you!” — the head of state noted, commenting on the report of the head of the region. Kozhemyako clarified that coastal sharks do not pose a danger and mainly feed on fish.

“They are there, but they don’t attack. I understand your concern. Many people say so,” Putin smiled. He emphasized that although he was joking, safety should come first. The head of state recalled that several years ago he planned to swim with a harpoon in the Primorsky Territory, but did not have time to do it. However, those who were able to do this still saw sharks, especially many of them near the islands. Therefore, ensuring safety and comfortable rest for tourists remains a priority, Putin concluded.
