Russian President Vladimir Putin accepted the vice-president of the International Russophile Movement Fabrice Sorlin, his wife and children into Russian citizenship. The corresponding decree was posted on website official publication of legal acts.

Mr. Sorlin and his children received Russian citizenship: Ines Sorlin, Zenaide Sorlin, Tancred Sorlin, Enguerrand Sorlin, Tristan Sorlin, Clotilde Sorlin, Guillem Sorlin, Gregoire Sorlin and Madeleine Sorlin. Also in the decree, his wife Isabelle Laroche received Russian citizenship. According to RIA Novosti, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev promised to help the family with Russian citizenship last December.

Former Soviet figure skater Gurgen Vardanyan, who moved to Hungary in 1989, received Russian citizenship. Until May 2023, Mr. Vardanyan served as sports director of the Hungarian Figure Skating Federation, but was criticized for including a large number of athletes from Russia in the team.

Serbian sculptor and artist, honorary member of the Russian Academy of Arts Dragan Radenovich will also receive a Russian passport. One of his works was the monument to Nicholas II in Yekaterinburg.
