By June 20, Russian President Vladimir Putin expects the government to initiate initiatives to expand equal multilateral international sports cooperation and develop new formats. This was announced on Tuesday, December 19, by the Kremlin press service.
The Russian leader also instructed the Cabinet of Ministers to submit proposals for holding sports parades on Red Square in Moscow by March 1, 2024, as proposed by the head of the International Boxing Association Umar Kremlev.
In addition, the president gave instructions for the development and modernization of sports infrastructure in the regions of Russia. In particular, Putin ordered the creation of training centers for Russian biathlon, cycling and speed skating teams in the Sverdlovsk region.
Centers for martial arts, gymnastics, hockey, tennis and other sports should appear in the Far East, and in Sochi it is ordered to build a national training center for the Russian national football teams.
The topic of infrastructure for Russians to engage in physical education and sports was discussed during Vladimir Putin’s summing up the results of 2023 on live television. The president was shown a video message from young Crimean athletes – the children complained that they were forced to train outside in the winter, since the local gym was in disrepair. The head of state emphasized that this problem will be resolved point-by-point.
Within three hours, the director and employees of the sports complex in the village of Solnechnaya Dolina were interrogated as part of a pre-investigation check for negligence of authorized officials. According to the head of Crimea Sergei Aksenov, the decision to renovate the gym in Solnechnaya Dolina was made even before the direct line, but it was postponed due to various problems, and now local entrepreneurs promised that renovate the gym on your ownwithout waiting for budget funds.
