Putin discussed with the head of the Ministry of Culture Lyubimova the implementation of restoration projects

Russian President Vladimir Putin held a working meeting with Minister of Culture Olga Lyubimova. As clarified press office Kremlin, they discussed the implementation of restoration projects in a number of Russian regions, as well as the work of the ministry with four new regions.

During the meeting, Olga Lyubimova told the head of state about the opening of the International Restoration Center with an area of ​​10 thousand square meters in the Leningrad Region. m. “We managed to purchase all the latest equipment and technology. It is very important that people who recreate – sometimes literally from the ashes, absolutely fantastically save our masterpieces, have the opportunity to work in wonderful conditions, ”she said.

In addition, the Minister of Culture drew attention to the fact that in 2024 the Novodevichy Convent located in Moscow will turn 500 years old. By this time, it is planned to complete the preparation of all 36 objects of the monastery. Currently, 24 are ready. “I hope that this long, painstaking and even long-suffering work of ours will be completed,” added Ms. Lyubimova.

The President asked why Olga Lyubimova called the project “long-suffering.” “There were difficulties at the very beginning. Remember, the bell tower burned there, there were big problems with the contractor. And now, thank God, good and very responsible restorers, the abbess is very pleased,” the minister explained.

Olga Lyubimova also told Vladimir Putin about the preparations for the International Tchaikovsky Competition. According to her, after the term “cancellation of culture” appeared a year ago, the organizers of the project began to worry about how many applications for the competition would be submitted.

“We watched with excitement and great interest what the number of applications will be. 742 applications and 41 countries: these are musicians from the USA, Japan, Sweden, Switzerland, Italy, Spain, Germany, South Korea,” she said. “People of the world are out of politics,” the Russian president said.

Vladimir Putin also discussed with the head of the Ministry of Culture the restoration of facilities in the DPR, LPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions. “I did not have the opportunity to see social facilities when I was in the Kherson region, in the Lugansk Republic. But it was clear that where there were no hostilities, everything was clean and tidy. But, of course, the institutions themselves – you can’t see much from a car, from a helicopter – the institutions themselves, I know, need support, restoration,” Mr. Putin stressed.

Olga Lyubimova assured the president that the Ministry of Culture is working together with the leaders of the annexed regions. In particular, issues of restoration of schools, libraries, colleges and cinemas are being discussed.
