He noted that this is also the difference between the “One Belt, One Road” initiative implemented by China and other projects that Western countries are trying to promote. In his interview, Putin called them states “with a heavy colonial legacy.”
On September 21, Putin announced that he had accepted the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping to attend the third international forum dedicated to the tenth anniversary of the Chinese Belt and Road Initiative. Later, presidential aide Yuri Ushakov said that Putin would visit China next week. The forum will take place on October 17-18 in Beijing.
On October 12, Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Andrei Rudenko said that Russia and China are working on the possibility of concluding new agreements in the economic sphere during Putin’s planned visit to China.
