Putin awarded the title of Hero of Russia to the deceased deputy head of the administration of the Kherson region

Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree conferring the title of Hero of Russia on Alexei Katerinichev. He worked as the first deputy for security of the head of the administration of the Kherson region. The day before, Mr. Katerinichev died during a missile attack on Kherson.
Presidential Decree published on the official Internet portal of legal information. The document says that the title was awarded to Alexei Katerinichev “for courage and heroism shown in the line of duty.”
Alexey Katerinichev died September 30 as a result of a missile attack. The authorities of the Kherson region claim that the blow was delivered by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Mr. Katerinichev worked as the first deputy head for a month and a half, he was sent there by the Russian side. Prior to that, he served in the border troops, the FSB and the Ministry of Emergency Situations. From April 2021 to August 2022, he served as First Deputy Head of the FGKU Center for Special Risk Rescue Operations Leader.
