Russian President Vladimir Putin awarded the title of Hero of Russia to the first deputy head of the administration of the Kherson region Alexei Katerinichev posthumously. This is stated in the decree of the Russian leader.
The title was awarded “for courage and heroism shown in the line of duty.”
Friday, September 30 in Kherson, the first deputy of the military-civilian administration for security, Aleksey Katerinichev, died. 48-year-old officer of the special services of the Russian Federation with extensive service experience, holder of three Orders of Courage. The tragedy occurred after a night strike by the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the house in which the man lived. He left behind a wife and two children.
Kherson authorities believe that the strike was targeted. In Kherson, Katerinichev, who is a native of Rybinsk, Yaroslavl region, performed tasks to ensure the safety of the inhabitants of the city, and not the preparation and conduct of hostilities.
