President Vladimir Putin awarded Order of Courage of the train driver Yuri Kvashnin. Media reports that he and his assistant were able to remove part of the train with oil products from the Crimean bridge after the explosion on October 8. The firefighters who participated in the elimination of the consequences of the explosion were also awarded.
Driver’s assistant Viktor Proshin was awarded the medal “For Courage”. According to “RIA News”he and Mr. Kvashnin unhooked and took away from the burning Crimean bridge 25 of the 59 train cars.

- Sergei Shchenyatsky.
