Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on the posthumous awarding of the Russia 24 military commander Boris Maksudov with the Order of Courage. The document was published on website Kremlin.
“For the courage and bravery shown in the performance of professional duty, award the Order of Courage to Boris Bakhtiyarovich Maksudov, a correspondent for the Rossiya-24 information channel…” the decree says.
November 22 Mr. Maksudov received shrapnel wounds as a result of a UAV strike on a group of Russian journalists in the Zaporozhye region. The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that the military correspondent’s life was not in danger, but on November 23 he died.
Boris Maksudov has worked on the Rossiya 24 TV channel for the last few years. He has repeatedly reported from hot spots. As reported by VGTRK, the correspondent has been in the Zaporozhye region for the last month. November 18, four days before his death, was his birthday.
