Putin arrived in Vladivostok to participate in the EEF

Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived in Vladivostok to participate in the Eastern Economic Forum (WEF).
The head of state’s visit to the Far East will be two days. On September 11, Putin will be given a presentation on the development of the region. Then the president will hold a meeting via videoconference on development programs for Far Eastern cities. Also scheduled for September 11 is a meeting with the Governor of the Primorsky Territory Oleg Kozhemyako, reported Kremlin press service.
On September 12, a plenary session of the forum will take place, at which Putin will speak. Together with him, the Vice President of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, Mrs. Pani Yathothu, will take part in the session. Putin will also hold meetings with heads of foreign delegations.
Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov reportedthat before the plenary session, at which Far Eastern issues and international issues will be discussed, there will be a separate meeting between Putin and Yathotu. In addition, the head of state will meet with Vice Premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China Zhang Guoqing.
The WEF was first held in 2015. It was organized by order of Putin. This year the forum takes place from September 10 to 13 in Vladivostok. According to Peskov, an “interesting discussion” is expected at the plenary session.
