Discussion of the new Concept became the first item on the agenda of the meeting of members of the Security Council of the Russian Federation
President Vladimir Putin said during today’s meeting with the permanent members of the Security Council that he had signed a decree approving a new version of the Foreign Policy Concept of the Russian Federation. The head of state called the new Concept a balanced document that will form the basis of the country’s practical actions.
“Today, the first item on our agenda is to discuss the Foreign Policy Concept of the Russian Federation. Cardinal changes in international life have required us to seriously adjust key strategic planning documents, including the Foreign Policy Concept of the Russian Federation, which outlines the principles, tasks, and priorities of diplomatic activity,” he said. As TASS recalls, the concept that has been in force so far was adopted in November 2016. At the same time, work on the updated version of the document turned out to be quite lengthy and difficult. At the same time, the draft of the new concept was already submitted for discussion by the Security Council in January 2022, but at the suggestion of the head of state, it was sent for revision.
