Putin appointed MIET rector Bespaly as the new head of the Russian Science Foundation

Russian President Vladimir Putin appointed MIET Rector Vladimir Bespalov to the position of General Director of the Russian Science Foundation (RSF). Corresponding decree of the President is published on the official portal of legal information.

Prior to this, the position of General Director of the RSF since its founding in 2013 was held by Alexander Khlunov. The last time his powers were extended by presidential decree in 2018 for a period of five years. The Russian Science Foundation is engaged in supporting scientific research, as well as training personnel and developing scientific teams.

In February, Vladimir Putin approved strategy for scientific and technological development of Russia. The strategy sets the main goals, objectives and priorities of scientific and technological development, and also determines the directions of state policy in this area.
