Putin and Sobyanin opened a new departure route in the west of Moscow

Russian President Vladimir Putin and Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin opened on Saturday the northern backup of Kutuzovsky Prospect – Bagration Avenue.
According to the press service of the mayor and government of Moscow, the new six-lane highway stretches from Moscow City and the Third Transport Ring to the Moscow Ring Road and through the Molodogvardeyskaya interchange. The highway is fully integrated with the toll highway Northern Bypass of the city of Odintsovo and further with the Mozhaisk and Minsk highways. The length of its main course is about 10 km, and with exits and 17 artificial structures – about 22 km.
An alternative route from the M1 Belarus federal highway to Moscow City will reduce vehicle mileage by 3 km and travel time by an average of 30 minutes. Now you can get from the Moscow Ring Road to Moscow City in 15 minutes instead of 45.
The new route will improve transport services for more than one and a half million residents of Moscow and the Moscow region and relieve congestion on neighboring highways.
It is planned to operate Bagration Avenue on a paid basis. The road is equipped with a barrier-free toll system. The fare will be debited automatically from prepaid transponders. If you do not have a transponder, you can pay for travel through the mobile applications “Main Road”, “Parking of Russia”, as well as on the websites mos.ru and m-road.ru.
The decision to name the new highway after Peter Bagration was made taking into account the opinion of Muscovites, who expressed their opinion by voting in the “Active Citizen” system.
To monitor the traffic situation, 93 video surveillance cameras have been installed on Bagration Avenue.
